Banana Bread Brownies

You walk into the kitchen and there they are, staring you in the face. Making you question a decision you made over a week ago. They’re the bananas you bought, convinced you were going to eat them. And yet, here they are, browning, ever so slowly, but you still haven’t eaten them. Well, we’re here to tell you never to question yourself again. Those brown bananas were destined to make it into this delectable banana bread brownie recipe. Top it off with a brown butter frosting, and we’re convinced you’ll never regret buying bananas again.

Ingredients - Brownies:

2 eggs

3 bananas, mashed

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup butter, softened

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

3/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Ingredients - Frosting:

1/2 cup butter

2 cups powdered sugar

1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

3 tbsp milk

Directions:

For brownies:

1 – Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 13”x9” pan

2 – Beat together sugar, sour cream, butter and eggs for the brownie, until the mixture is creamy

3 – Mix in the bananas and vanilla

4 – Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix for one minute, then stir in walnuts

5 – Spread the batter into the greased pan, ensuring it is evenly distributed

6 – Bake 25 minutes of until golden brown

7 – Allow to cool slightly, then frost

8 – Cool completely before cutting

For frosting:

1 – Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat

2 – Once it reaches a medium brown colour, turn off the heat and mix in the powdered sugar, adding milk at it gets thicker

3 – Add in the vanilla
