Life's Simple Ingredient

Campfire Breakfast Sandwiches

Prep 10M | Cook 5-10M | Enjoy in 15-20M

Just in time for May long, we have delicious breakfast sandwiches you can cook over an open fire. Available at most camping and outdoor stores, sandwich-irons allow you to cook all sorts of sandwiches over a fire. Go for grilled cheese, hot turkey or any other fillings you think would be tasty between two slices of hot bread.

For these campfire breakfast sandwiches we recommend packing a loaf of our tasty bread, eggs, cheese and cooked peppered bacon or sausages. Then just add your sandwich ingredients to the pie iron, close, and cook until everything is perfectly toasty.

Ingredients:

8 slices bread

4 slices cheddar cheese

4 slices peppered bacon or sausage, cooked

4 eggs, cooked

Directions:

These sandwiches keep it simple, especially if you prepare the eggs and bacon before you leave.

  1. Butter or oil the sandwich-iron.
  2. Add all the ingredients to the sandwich-iron and close.
  3. Put iron over campfire, rotating until all ingredients are heated through and the cheese is melted. Check after about 5 minutes, and then at 2 minute intervals until you reach your desired level of toasting. (Cooking time is easier to judge after making the first sandwich)
