Campfire S’mores Sandwiches

Prep 2M | Roast 5M | Enjoy in 7M

Site’s booked. The tent is packed. All that’s left to make the perfect camping weekend is the meal planning. When you’re camping, you might as well take advantage of the fun and deliciousness of cooking over the open fire. Bacon over the fire, hotdogs roasted over hot coals, and corn roasted over the flames mean you can cook almost all your meals on the firepit – but don’t forget dessert. We’ve got you covered with these delicious s’mores sandwiches. They’re so easy to make, and if you have a pie iron, the kids will love to help cook these up. No pie iron? Don’t fret! Just use an old cast iron pan over the cooking grate on your firepit instead, flipping the sandwiches halfway.

Toasted Marshmallow Sandwich with Chocolate Sauce / Fluffernutte

Ingredients:

2 slices of your favourite bread

2 tbsp peanut butter

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp milk chocolate chips

1/4 cup mini marshmallows

Directions:

1 – Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread
2 – Place bread, butter-side down, into the pie iron
3 – Spread half of the peanut butter onto the exposed side of each slice of bread
4 – Stick the marshmallows to one slice of bread, and the chocolate chips to the other. The peanut butter should help keep everything in place
5 – Close the pie maker
6 – Roast over a campfire for about 3 minutes on each side, until the bread is toasted.

*Pro Tip: After the first sandwich, the pie iron will maintain a certain level of heat, so you might need to adjust the cooking time for a second sandwich to around 2 or 2.5 minutes.
