Prep 10M | Freeze 30M | Enjoy in 40M

There’s just something about cookie dough that no one can seem to resist. It could be the flavor, or it could just be that we’re all too impatient to wait for the finished product to come out of the oven. No matter what though, it’s undeniable that cookie dough is delicious – that’s why we’re sharing this recipe for cookie dough bites. Aside from cooking the flour, there’s no baking needed for this recipe, and the results taste just like the little bites of dough in cookie dough ice cream.

Ingredients:

½ cup butter or margarine, room temperature

¾ cup brown sugar

3 tbsp milk

1 tsp vanilla

Pinch of salt

¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup whole wheat flour

Directions:

1. Toast Your Flour*

Spread flour on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes at 350° F. Let the flour cool completely. Ideally, you can do this while you already have your oven on and cooking dinner or another recipe. Store the cooked flour for up to a day.

* This step is essential to ensure that any lingering bacteria is killed in the raw flour.

2. Prep

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

3. Mixing

In a bowl, cream together the butter or margarine, brown sugar, vanilla and milk.

Once creamed, add the whole wheat flour, salt and chocolate chips. Mix together with a spoon.

4. Form Dough Balls

Form the dough into balls with a tablespoon. Place each ball on the cookie sheet and then place the sheet in the freezer for approximately 30 minutes to firm up.
