If you’re cruising down the Icefields Parkway this summer, stopping by Sunwapta Falls is something you won’t regret. Just a short walk down to the falls from the road will get you to some incredible views. Fun history tip: these waterfalls originated from the Athabasca Glacier, when glacier ice receded over 8,000 years ago. Loaded with veggies and a more nutritionally balanced version of the kid classic, bring some Whole Wheat Pizza Roll Ups in the cooler to fuel the road trip and hike.
Making a trip to Waterton Lakes National Park should definitely include the hike to Lower Bertha Falls. This one has moderate elevation gain, so while it is good for beginners, make sure to choose an appropriate pace to get you to the end. The views are absolutely worth the hike! Bring along these Whole Wheat Peanut Butter Cookies—sometimes you just need a sweet snack to get you through the rest of the hike!
