Fun Fall Home Décor Crafts

Wheat makes the perfect centerpiece

Switching up your home décor during the fall season can help make your house feel cozy and warm as the temperature drops. Harvesting wheat is synonymous with fall, which is why it makes the ideal décor for the autumn season! From wheat-inspired crafts to ones with wheat stalks and flour in them, you can use life’s simple ingredient as inspiration for a variety of home décor options. Check out our favourites below.

Fall Wheat Wreath

It’s a classic for a reason—this wheat wreath just screams “fall”! Hang it on your front door so your neighbours know how much you love the autumn season and, of course, life’s simple ingredient. You can make this wreath relatively inexpensively, as you only need something to be the base of your wreath (like a straw wreath), burlap, pins, and bundles of wheat. This is a great way to spruce up any door.

Wheat Kid’s Craft

Your kids can get involved in the home décor DIY-ing, too! Just print out the template and use yellow construction paper or ribbon for the centre wheat stalk. Colour in the rest of the photo, and you’re done! Hang this on the fridge or even frame it to show off your kids’ art skills for a fall and wheat-inspired masterpiece.

Wheat Embroidery

While this one doesn’t involve physically using wheat, the inspiration still comes from the wonderful wheat stalk. Learn to embroider the wheat kernels and hairs to create a fall hanging décor item or something you can add to a plain t-shirt to add some autumn spice.

Wooden Crate Wheat Centerpiece

If you have a wooden crate lying around that you’ve used for other décor, this is the perfect time to repurpose it for a fall-themed wheat centerpiece. You can get a wooden crate at any home goods store, or if you want to do a true DIY, you can make and stain it yourself so you get the perfect size for your table. All you need other than the crate is bottles and a few dried wheat stalks to finish off the perfect autumn table piece.
