Three options to fire up the grill with wheat

Celebrating National Barbecue Month

May is National BBQ Month and we’re celebrating the season of achieving perfect grill marks on our favourite foods. We know what you’re thinking—wheat… on the barbecue? Trust us—there’s more options than you realize!

Grilled Pizza Dough

Pizza is delicious in its traditional form but pop it on the grill and you’ve gone a level up in taste and fun. If you haven’t tried grilling pizza yet, now is your time to give it a go! This recipe for perfect grilling pizza dough is simple—all you need is flour, water, yeast, salt and oil and you’re set with a base to customize how you please. Make a batch and let the family decide their toppings, from gourmet arugula and prosciutto to the classic Hawaiian pineapple and ham.

Cajun Style Burgers

Of course, we couldn’t put together BBQ recipes without including a burger. This is a classic backyard staple with a little bit of spice to transform into a Cajun delight! With Cajun seasoning and hot barbecue sauce, this one won’t be mild, but it’ll surely be delicious. Try making it with our favourite bun recipe, Honey Cornbread Buns, and bring some southern flair up north.

Grilled Chicken Quesadillas

Pop all the ingredients on the grill in these Grilled Chicken Quesadillas for ultimate flavour. You can totally start from scratch on this one and make homemade flour tortillas to have ready at the grill when assembling your quesadillas. This recipe can come together in just over an hour (including making the homemade tortillas!), so it’s a great weeknight option to get the barbecue going on a warm, sunny day.
